Human trafficking

Human trafficking is one of the fastest growing criminal enterprises in the world. Also known as modern-day slavery, human trafficking is almost always a form of organized crime.

Men, women and children are exploited for a wide range of purposes, including forced labor, sexual exploitation, domestic servitude, forced marriage, child soldiers, illegal adoption, and organ removal.

Nearly every country in the world is affected by human trafficking and the trend for the average number of detected and reported victims per country has been steadily increasing.

It is estimated there are more than 50 million persons enslaved worldwide – exploited day after day, year after year. This is more slaves than at any other time in our history, with 1 in 4 of these being a child.

And, while stories about human trafficking tend to focus on forced prostitution, persons trafficked for slavery, including child labor, and for forced marriage are statistically higher.

Every day people are being trafficked – forced to work against their will, deprived of their freedom, and stripped of their dignity. Less than 0.2% of victims are identified and helped each year.

A much greater sense of urgency is needed to bring a stop to this exploitation.

In conjunction with our partners, the International Centre for Missing & Exploited Children and award-winning survivor of human trafficking, Timea Nagy-Payne’s Online Institute, we are proud to offer an expansive range of multi-language learning options – many of them are FREE of charge.
